About the Role
Role Overview
Meritbey is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Business Analyst (Research) to join our growth team. In this role, you will act as the bridge between raw market data and actionable business strategy. You will conduct deep-dive qualitative and quantitative research to identify market trends, competitor movements, and user behavior patterns that will shape the future of Meritbey’s products and services.
Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence: Conduct secondary and primary research to track industry trends, emerging technologies, and market shifts within the [EdTech/Talent/Consulting] space.
Competitor Benchmarking: Analyze competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning to identify "white space" opportunities for Meritbey.
Data Analysis: Interpret complex data sets to identify patterns and provide insights into customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
Business Reporting: Create high-impact visualizations, dashboards, and comprehensive research reports for senior leadership.
Process Optimization: Work closely with the Product and Marketing teams to translate research findings into functional requirements and business process improvements.
Stakeholder Management: Present research-backed recommendations to cross-functional teams to drive data-led decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
2–5 years of experience in business research, market research, analytics, or consulting
Strong analytical skills with experience handling large datasets and multiple data sources
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau – preferred)
Experience with secondary research using paid and public databases (industry reports, financial filings, news, and market data)
Ability to structure problems, form hypotheses, and validate insights through data
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present insights clearly
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, accurate outputs
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Curiosity-driven mindset with a strong interest in market dynamics and emerging trends
