About the Role
Role Description
The Test Lead at MeritBey is responsible for defining and driving the quality assurance strategy across digital platforms, data products, and analytics solutions. This role leads test planning, execution, and governance to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable deliverables for clients.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical testing expertise with leadership skills, ensuring that quality is embedded across the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement end-to-end test strategies across web, mobile, data, and analytics solutions
Lead test planning, test design, execution, defect management, and reporting activities
Manage and mentor QA engineers and testers across multiple projects
Collaborate with product managers, developers, data engineers, and project managers to align quality objectives
Establish and enforce testing standards, frameworks, and best practices
Oversee functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, and non-functional testing
Drive automation testing strategy and tool selection to improve test efficiency and coverage
Track and report quality metrics, test progress, and release readiness to stakeholders
Identify quality risks early and recommend mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory testing requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives within QA and delivery processes
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
6–10 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including leadership roles
Strong hands-on experience with manual and automated testing
Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, or similar
Knowledge of API testing, database testing, and data validation techniques
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD environments
Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar
Understanding of performance, security, and usability testing concepts
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead quality initiatives across projects
